Willcom Introduces the "Willcom Location Search Service"

WILLCOM, Inc. and WILLCOM OKINAWA, Inc. are pleased to announce the start of the "Willcom Location Search Service" a service that enables Willcom subscribers to locate Willcom phones, from 6th April 2006.

The "Willcom Location Search Service" makes full use of the micro-cell network, comprised of approximately 160,000 Willcom stations nationwide (approximately 23,000 base stations in Central Tokyo and 51,000 base stations in the Kanto area of Tokyo and the surrounding 6 prefectures) to perform location searches on not only outdoor places, but also on places that are difficult for GPS to reach, such as indoor locations, subway train platforms and underground shopping areas.

Also, users can perform location searches not only from Willcom phones, but also from their mobile phones or personal computers, enabling parents to easily confirm the locations of their children’s whereabouts anytime, anywhere.

Willcom gives parents and their children peace of mind and security in their daily lives.

1. Overview
The "Willcom Location Search Service" makes full use of the micro-cell network, made up of approximately 160,000 Willcom stations nationwide (approximately 23,000 base stations in Central Tokyo and 51,000 base stations in the Kanto area of Tokyo and the surrounding 6 prefectures) to perform location searches on not only outdoor places, but also on places that are difficult for GPS to reach, such as indoor locations, subway train platforms and underground shopping areas. In addition, users can perform location searches not only from browser-enabled Willcom phones, but also from their mobile phones or personal computers, to locate the position of Willcom phones easily.

This service is made available to subscribers who wish to have their Willcom phone located. For example, if a father wishes to search for the Willcom phone he has let his child carry, he will have to subscribe to the service. The "Willcom Location Search Service" has the following two services.

Location Search
Users can get the address of the location of the Willcom phone they are searching for, by keying in their user ID and password at the "Willcom Location Search Service" website available from browser-enabled Willcom phones, mobile phones or personal computers. They can also locate the position of the phone from the map by clicking on the "Map display" button.

Current Location Notification
Just with a simple operation, users can send an e-mail notification of their current location to up to 2 e-mail addresses. The receiver can also verify the sender’s location on the map by clicking on the URL link found in the e-mail.
2. Charges
This service will be charged to the subscriber’s Willcom phone.
Initial Registration: 525 yen
Monthly subscription: 315 yen (inclusive of 10 searches)
Service Charges (Location search, Current Location Notification): 5.25 yen/service (from the 11th usage onwards)

For current location notification, a transmission charge of 6.3 yen will be separately charged each time.
Internet connection and e-mailing will be separately charged for phones and personal computers used.

Wednesday, April 6, 2006
4. Compatible Phone Sets
AP-K202S (Anshinda Phone), WX300/310 Series, AH-J3003S, WS003SH (W-ZERO3), etc.

When using the "Current Location Notification" service on the AP-K202S, users need to register a telephone number used for location search service with one of the receivers.
Some phone sets do not support the "Current Location Notification" service.
5. Application Procedure
Fill up and return the application form, which is available at Willcom service outlets or through the Willcom Service Center.
After the application, users will be notified of the URL to be used for "Location Search" their ID and password by mail.

This service is only available to non-corporate subscribers.
Only 1 number can be registered per application. A different application is needed for each Willcom phone to be searched.
6. Free Campaign
Period: April 6, 2006 - September 30, 2006
During the Free Campaign period, initial registration, monthly subscription and service charges will be waived.

Transmission charges for "Location Search" and "Current Location Notification" searches will still apply.
A total of 100 "Location Search" and "Current Location Notification" searches per month will be free.
