WILLCOM Announces the W-SIM (WILLCOM SIM)
Multi-functional Communication Series
|
WILLCOM, Inc. and WILLCOM OKINAWA, Inc. are pleased to announce the introduction of the W-SIM (WILLCOM SIM) series, a multi-functional communication module incorporating WILLCOM’s advanced PHS antenna and device wireless technology. Suitable for general use, the W-SIM series will launch on November 25 with the W-SIM voice handset WS001IN, and the W-SIM data handset WS002IN.
Industrial designer Shunji Yamanaka has been involved with the overall design of the W-SIM, WS001IN, and WS002IN since the start of development. Details of these handsets are available at the Web site of NetIndex Inc. (http://www.netindex.co.jp).
WILLCOM is presently preparing to establish the WILLCOM Core Module Forum (provisional name) to promote dynamic growth in the wireless communication market through constructing an environment for general use with the modularization of PHS wireless components. The plan calls for modules, such as the CSC Engine supplied by CSC Co., Ltd. and the W-SIM, to become WILLCOM Core Modules, whereby businesses may utilize and develop a variety of products centered on Core Modules. |
