| WILLCOM Announces 'WILLCOM Fixed Rate Plan' and other Services - Industry's First Fixed-Rate Voice Service |
WILLCOM Inc. and WILLCOM Okinawa Inc.
are pleased to announce the introduction of the 'WILLCOM
Fixed-Rate Plan', the first fixed-rate voice service to
launch in the Japanese mobile telecommunications industry.
WILLCOM currently provides fixed-rate packages for packet
data communications through its AIR-EDGE mobile data communications
service, but the 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate Plan' will provide
voice fixed-rate packages, allowing subscribers to use
all of WILLCOM's services at the same reasonable fixed-rate.
The service launches on May 1, 2005.
The 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate' Plan will provide unlimited calling
between WILLCOM handsets, unlimited direct mail, and unlimited
email for a single basic monthly fee. WILLCOM has created
this high-grade, fixed-rate service using its existing
high-capacity micro-cell network which features benefits
including clear voice quality which rivals land-line phones,
wide area coverage, reaching 99% of the population through
the 2005 fiscal year end, and low SAR*. The 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate'
Plan will be available across the entire Japanese service
region, and support all WILLCOM handsets.
In addition, the 'Family Pack' discount service will be offered to subscribers of two or more 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate' Plan handsets. Taking advantage of this, families or company employees that subscribe as a group will enjoy the 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate' Plan at even more reasonable prices.
Optional services with fixed-rate packet data, such as 'Real Internet Plus [1x],' will be added for 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate' Plan subscribers for even more convenient voice-data service.
WILLCOM will be offering an early-signup campaign from Wednesday, March 16 to Saturday, April 30, 2005. New subscribers to the 'WILLCOM Fixed-Rate Plan' will receive up to 5000 yen cash back on their March and April invoices.
* SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) Value: The amount of energy absorbed by the human body when exposed to radio waves, expressed as a relative absorption rate. WILLCOM handsets are rated at approximately 0.03-0.08 W/Kg, well below the Japan standard value of 2W/Kg |

With this package, voice calls to WILLCOM phones, mail, Internet connection for the handset and Internet connection for a PC through the handset can all be used for no extra charge. |
