Concludes International Roaming Agreement of PHS Service
with AWC in Thailand |
| Regarding
the Launch of International Roaming |
| Users are
able to access email and the Internet easily |
| DDI POCKET,
Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Takeo
Yamashita; Capital: 75,251 million yen) is pleased to
announce today that it has concluded an agreement on international
roaming service with Asia Wireless Communication Co.,
Ltd. (hereafter "AWC", Headquarters: Bangkok; President:
Adhiruth Thothaveesansuk) during a signing ceremony held
in Bangkok today with AWC. The parties have agreed to
provide international roaming service in Thailand beginning
December 16 of this year. |
The international roaming
service to begin in Thailand in this occasion, will allow
DDI POCKET users to use the same level of service as in
Japan when they travel to Thailand.
In addition to voice communications, they will be able
to use emails and the Internet easily, which are becoming
indispensable at overseas destinations. |

been made possible by utilizing the PHS network provided
by AWC in Thailand. |
| The following services
will be available to users traveling in Thailand. |

Voice communications
- can launch and receive international and domestic calls
As in using PHS services in Japan, users will be able
to make calls at low fees when roaming internationally.
Users will also able to receive calls directly at another
PHS number for usage in Thailand (roaming number). Calls
to the roaming number can be received free of charge. |

Email - DDI
POCKET's email service will be available when roaming
internationally
Users traveling in Thailand will be able to send and receive
Emails easily to and from their handsets without other
devices.
*Automatic email reception function will not be available |

Internet access
- Users can connect to the Internet at 32Kbps provided
by the PIAFS environment
By simply connecting user's PHS handset to a PC with a
USB cable, he or she will be able to secure an Internet
access environment easily at overseas destinations |

Internet access
- Users will be able to connect to sites providing free
content
Users are able to obtain information from Japan easily
from their PHS handsets alone. |
The international roaming
service will be available in the PHS service areas provided
by AWC in Thailand.
