POCKET Introduces "AirH"PHONE Handset Equipped with Standard
Mailer and Browser |
| Tokyo,
February 27, 2003 -- DDI POCKET Inc. is pleased to announce
that it will introduce the new AirH"PHONE handset series
equipped with a standard mailer and a browser. The new
series combines the features of the PDA, with its superior
functionality for accessing the Internet in a mobile environment,
the features of a voice handset with a full range of voice
communications and e-mail functions, and the service features
of AirH". |
| AirH"PHONE enables users
who already use ADSL and other fixed line communications
to access Web sites and e-mails wherever users are. Target
customers are entry users of the mobile Internet, for
whom the phone provides both voice and data communications.
Going forward, DDI POCKET will provide an increasingly
comfortable mobile internet access environment in addition
to the AirH" that have released to date. |

E-mail
Handsets are equipped with POP3 and SMTP mailers, users
are able to access the e-mail service provided by DDI
POCKET, and in addition, access the services of Internet
Service Providers that use POP3/SMTP servers, as well
as remote access servers of businesses. |

Internet Access
AirH"PHONES are equipped with CompactHTML browsers, so
users are able to access the Internet and all general
sites available to mobile phone users. The AirH"PHONE
series is also suited to connections with business Intranets. |

Access to
Official DDI POCKET Sites
AirH"PHONE users are able to access CLUBAirH", a portal
content and service site where content access fees are
collected by DDI POCKET from AirH"PHONE, PDA and PC users. |

Data Communications
Users can access AirH" data communication services by
connecting handheld AirH"PHONEs to any PC with a USB cable. |

Voice Communications
Users will enjoy high quality voice communications, a
special feature of the H" series. |
| A new fee structure is
based on packet data volume, and is applied to 1) e-mails,
2) internet, 3) DDI POCKET approved official sites from
their Air"PHONE. |
Fee: 0.01 yen
to 0.1 yen per packet
Fixed rate or semi-fixed rate schemes are also
available to users, and can be applied to the
type of use and communication fees plan selected.

| The first AirH"PHONE handset
is scheduled to be released by Japan Radio Co., Ltd in
the beginning of April. |
| AirH"PHONE services including
e-mail and internet access, and packet data charges, will
begin in early April. |
| Users who have subscribed
to Option Mail Hodai, Option Mail Hodai and Talk Wari,
Super Pack LL and Tsunagi Hodai Course services will have
unlimited access to the Air"PHONE sites from the date
of the launch of AirH"PHONE handsets until June 30. |
