| DDI
POCKET Launches 'WakeOn' Service, Automates Data Delivery
to PDAs |
| DDI POCKET,
Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of 'WakeOn' Service,
a service that enables companies to remotely activate
employee PDAs with instructions to access the company
server. The new service has been especially designed for
businesses that construct field operation systems using
PDAs, for content providers that build a push content
delivery system to deliver news to PDAs on a daily basis,
and for ISPs that consider pushed content delivery service
to PDAs as an optional service. |

| As corporate IT systems
spread, solutions allowing PDAs and other terminals to
access corporate intranets from off-site locations are
becoming mission critical. In most cases today PDAs are
only used for sending information, such as e-mail and
attachments. However businesses are requiring greater
immediacy and prompter action, and a growing number of
companies are requesting solutions that allow them to
send information to employee-held PDAs, as well as receiving
information from those PDAs by traditional set-ups. |

| 2. 'WakeOn Service'
Process |

| DDI POCKET has built the
'WakeOn Center' to send e-mails with a command to activate
PDAs connected to AirH" Handsets.A 'WakeOn' trigger message
(a light e-mail) is sent to AirH" Handset/PDA when the
WakeOn Center has received e-mail from the corporate or
other server. The 'WakeOn' trigger e-mail activates the
PDA through client software embedded in the PDA. An additional
e-mail is sent from the 'WakeOn Center' to the company
server to notify the delivery status of the WakeOn trigger
messages to the employee AirH" Handset or PDA. |
| The process on the PDA
side, after receiving a WakeOn trigger message, differs
according to the command from the company side. For example,
a system designed for e-mails received by a corporate
server to be transferred automatically to a PDA would
go though the following steps. |
| AirH" handset or PDA receives WakeOn trigger message |
|
|
→ |
|
→ |
| Client
software inside the PDA is activated. |
|
|
→ |
| E-mail
