POCKET to Provide Wireless IP Connection Service Designed
for Large Users |
| DDI POCKET,
Inc. is pleased to announce that it will begin offering
a PHS data communications service where users will be
charged according to the total volume of transmission.
The service is designed for high volume users of DDI POCKET's
PHS data communications (IP) services. DDI POCKET submitted
the service agreement and communications fee package to
the Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts
and Telecommunications today. DDI POCKET aims to launch
the service in September 2001 after the completion of
administrative processes including approval of the service
agreement. |
| With the spread of the
Internet and the growing size of the Intranets as business
deploy IT systems, the demand for a wireless Internet
access using PHS is increasing, and users of data communications
services are growing. Beginning this year, more and more
companies are starting to introduce the PHS based network
systems for their Intranets, as well as consumers. In
order to allow businesses, primarily large corporations,
or a group of companies, to facilitate construction of
their internal systems and to bring in applications, DDI
POCKET will be offering a service where users will not
be charged by the number of terminals in use, but on the
total volume of data transmitted. |
